Oki, Nii ta Nik ko Misomipita.

This site is created by Noah D. Arney.

As a visitor here in Secwépemc’ulucw I want to take a moment to center where I am.

I live and work on the traditional lands of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc within Secwépemc’ulucw, the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc. I have previously resided in the territories of the Niitsitapi, in the Treaty 7 region of southern Alberta, the Stó:lō, Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh territories in the Coast Salish region of southern BC, and Nlaka’pamux territory in central BC.

I have been in post-secondary student support for over 14 years in various roles including career services, academic advising, curriculum development, program administration, and admissions. I am currently a Career Development faculty member at Thompson Rivers University and a Certified Career Development Professional. My published research focuses on Indigenous post-secondary students’ perception of work-integrated learning and on governmental policy in work-integrated learning.

I have a Master of Education in Educational Research from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Theatre from the University of the Fraser Valley.
